For 41 years, the Michigan Horse Expo has been run almost exclusively by volunteers. These are people who donate their time and talent to assist the Michigan Horse Council, our non-profit equestrian organization, put on this amazing event. The proceeds from this event help provide scholarships to students with backgrounds in a variety of equestrian disciplines.

The need for volunteers is great, but many of these areas fill-up quickly, so be sure and submit your application to volunteer today.

Youth equine organizations are able to volunteer at the Expo and earn money for their equine programs.  A group of five volunteers or more, which can include a combination of youth and adults, will receive a check to their organization if all of the volunteer shifts have been adequately filled.  If you are volunteering as an equine youth organization, please be sure to fill out the sign up form completely with your organization's information.

All volunteers will receive a complimentary day pass for the specific day they are signed up to work. This pass does not give access to special events such as the rodeo and Mane Event.

All individuals must be at least age 12 or older. An adult must be present with each individual under the age of 21.

All main gate workers must be above the age of 16.
