About The Michigan Horse Expo

AN AMAZING HISTORY.

The Michigan Horse Expo has a rich history. Going back 42 consecutive years, it is one of the longest running equine events in the country. With some 20,000 people attending each year, it is also one of the largest.

The focus is always on the horse. Over 300 horses participate, representing some 2 dozen different breeds. From minis to draft horses, you will find all kinds of horses at the Expo.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THOSE ATTENDING THE EXPO PARKING:

Parking is free at the MSU Pavilion. But understand that the parking lots close to the Pavilion fill-up quickly each day. There is plenty of overflow parking in nearby University parking lots, and free shuttle buses that will take you back and forth to the Pavilion. Plan plenty of extra time.

THINGS NOT TO BRING:

No Dogs or pets. You may bring a service animal provided it is necessary for the guest. Under Michigan law we may inquire whether the animal is a service animal, and what tasks it does for you. Your service animal may be asked to leave if you are not controlling it effectively. If this happens, you are still entitled to return to the Expo without your service animal. Your service animal must under your control and wearing a harness, leash or other tether unless that would specifically interfere with the animal’s ability to do its job. Because we will have roughly 30 stallions in the vendor area, and many more horses throughout the facility, many which may be unfamiliar with dogs or other animals in close situations, those with service animals must respect the unique circumstances in this venue for the safety of all of our attendees.

No smoking or alcoholic beverages.

Because the facility will host above 2,500 guests, Michigan law and MSU regulations prohibit firearms or weapons of any type.
